Welcome to the 8^th Karmapa retreat website!

We are proud to present a wonderful retreat for all of you who have finished your ngöndro and are practicing the 8^th Karmapa meditation. The event is planned as a closed retreat, we therefore ask that you arrive on Friday and stay to the very end on Tuesday.

Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche and Lama Ole Nydahl will give teachings on the 8^th Karmapa meditation daily, as well as mediating with you. INITIATION CHANGE: Due to the many concerns raised regarding the Red Wisdom initiation and related damtsig, Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche will now give a Karma Pakshi initation (date to be confirmed), without any connected damtsig. Please see the Program & Events page for a message from Lama Ole, regarding the initiation change.

For this course, we need help with everything from building up (04-10/09) to cooking lunch to decorating the gompa and dissolving the whole event again (16-20/09). We absolutely need support for the retreat from friends who do not meditate on the 8^th Karmapa yet during the course. There are favorable prices for these real bodhisattvas, an evening program and a nice surprise at the end, if you would like to join the team please email: 8karmapa-course@europe-center.org. For those practicing on the 8^th Karmapa, we would ask that if you have the surplus to spend an hour or two supporting the course, stop by the Job Center, in the Dining Tent; we would be very happy to see you.
