Timeless Values

The opening of a statue exhibition in the historic rooms of the art nouveau building at Gut Hochreute will take place on Sunday 3 May at 3:00 p.m. The exhibition will then be open on Sundays between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. It will be concluded by a classical music concert on 26 July at 11:00 p.m.
On the day of the buddhist statue exhibition opening on 3 May, guided tours will be offered between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. Guided tours will then be offered on the following Sundays between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. The entrance fee is 5 € (Tour times and prices for groups can be arranged in advance.)
Tibetan buddhist statues embody a profound symbolism that goes far beyond purely artistic expression. The statues shown at Gut Hochreute serve as inspiration for meditation practices, which are done with the motivation to develop positive qualities for the benefit of all beings. The postures, gestures and attributes of the buddhist staues function like keys for opening deep layers in the viewer’s subconscious. The art nouveau building of Gut Hochreute is the perfect venue for the exhibition, and it is a joy to view it illuminated by the timeless values of buddhist art work. To conclude the statue exhibition, the second classical music concert to be held at Gut Hochreute will take place on 26 July, outside in the courtyard (or inside if it rains).
Visitors to the statue exhibition opening and the classical music concert can leave their cars at the public parking place “Froschweiher”. From here a free shuttle service to the venue and back will be provided.
The lecture has been organised by the Europe Center at Gut Hochreute, a seminar and event venue where people from all over the world meet, deepen their knowledge of Buddhism and meditate together. The current culture programme there includes a statue exhibition from 3 May until 26 July open every Sunday for guided tours from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., and a summer concert of classical music on 26 July at 11:00 p.m. Weekly program: Introductory explanations about Buddhism and Europe Center, Thursdays 7:30 p.m., followed by a guided meditation at 8:00 p.m. (The meditation takes about 30 minutes and is read in English because there are many international visitors and residents.)
