7th Transmission Weekend: Buddhism & Science
Mar 25 to Mar 27 (all day)

The seventh in our series of Transmission Weekends explores the exciting intersection between these two ways of understanding the world around us. Buddhist teachers who are also scientists will share with us the latest scientific discoveries and their relation to Buddhism.

From mirror neurons to near death experiences to the brain in meditation and on to entangled particles and Casimir effect, the speakers will particularly focus on the scientific findings Lama Ole relates to during his lectures.

Call for posters

All Buddhist friends-scientists will also have an opportunity to present their work on posters at the Buddhism & Science „market place“. If you would like to present a poster of your work, let us know in advance and we will give you more information. If needed, we can help with printing.

To submit a poster, please send first:

°       your suggested title,
°       your name and home sangha,
°       a brief summary of the work you want to present (maximum 300 words).

When preparing a poster, remember that the purpose is to inform our non-scientist friends. The language and amount of detail of your abstract and poster should be adjusted to this.

Contact person: Adam Wojciechowski from Wroclaw (e-mail: wojciechowski.adam {at} gmail(.)com)

Deadline: February 15, 2011

[updated Mar 16, 2011] If you missed the poster submission deadline but would still like to present your scientific work, please contact Peter Malinowski (peter {at} dwbuk(.)org) to check if it is still possible.
