More than 300 visitors at the open house “100 Years of Gut Hochreute” in Bühl

The Art Nouveau villa was full of people during the open house at Gut Hochreute. Visitors stood together in small groups and listened to explanations about the house or Buddhism.

Each hour larger groups of interested people gathered in the meditation room to hear a short talk and try out a meditation. Other visitors sat in the sun and enjoyed coffee and cake – or beer and sausage – and listened enthusiastically to the talented young brass band from the village of Schwarzenberg.

Exhibition

Others took part in a guided tour through the exhibition “Past, Present and Future” which presented the history of Gut Hochreute and its former owners in a factual and interesting manner. The number of visitors this year, as in last year, was about 300. The visitors were also very interested in the construction plans. In her welcoming speech Caty Hartung, member of the Board of Directors of the Diamond Way Buddhism Foundation, promised to provide more information in the future. On this day, throughout Bavaria, the Buddhist Centers of the Karma Kagyu tradition opened their doors to the public.
