As many of you who have been involved in organizing a lecture or course for our great teachers know, the show's not over once they leave, and this is also true for the International Summer Course. In addition to our daily morning and evening meditations sessions on the 16th Karmapa and daily hours for preliminary practices (tib. ngondro), we also try to organize some longer meditation sessions on different Buddha aspects such as the 16th Karmapa, Loving Eyes etc. We would therefore like to invite everyone to come and join us for a 12 hour meditation on the 16th Karmapa (09:00-21:00), which will be followed by a lecture from a traveling teacher.

We are all advised to travel with our lamas, to see how they really are in everyday situations. Over this transmission weekend we will hear from Gabi Volenko, Tommy Boggs and others who were on the road with Lama Ole, Hannah, the 16th Karmapa and other teachers when Lama Ole and Hannah first brought Diamond Way Buddhism to the West.

Whether you do the meditation on the 16th Karmapa, prostrations, Guru Yoga, or another of our Diamond Way methods, you will find this weekend interesting. Our travelling teachers will share their knowledge of the importance of the teacher-student relationship and our precious transmission lineage, including the oral transmission of the Karma Kagyu teachings from Tilopa until today.

On Sunday 11 September (11:00 - 18:00) the Europe Center will open its doors to everyone who is interested in visiting the center and learning more about Diamond Way Buddhism. There will be center tours, introductory talks (in German) and guided meditations .
As we are also celebrating the 100 year anniversary of Gut Hochreute - our wonderful venue - we will also have an exhibition and tours around the buildings and land.

We would like to invite you to the first course with thangka painter Dawa, Urken Lama from Kathmandu, Nepal. The painting course will take place from 02.09 – 08.09. Starting on Friday evening with an introductory lecture and ends on Thursday evening.
Who is Dawa?
Dawa is a 50 year old master of the Karma Gadri style of Tibetan art. He lives with his wife and daughters in Rumtek, Sikkim and is a close student of Karmapa Thaye Dordje and an supporter of Lama Ole. The art nouveau villa at Gut Hochreute opens its doors on June 2 for the third time, to serve as the setting for an exhibition of Buddhist statues. Guided tours with explanations about the symbolism of the statues and their attributes will be available on Sunday afternoons between 15:00 - 17:00, from 2nd June to 3rd July 2011.

Erik Weiss, a long-time student of Lama Ole, explains how Buddhism functions in the West at the Literature house in Immenstadt. The lecture will be held in German and is organized by the Diamond Way Buddhist Group Immenstadt together with the Europe Center. Entrance fee 6€.
