Regular sangha visits to the EC
Last year, a new way of joining in the EC daily life has appeared apart from the popular Country weekends. Sanghas started to organize Europe Center visits several times a year. It has many benefits - the visiting sangha does a new thing together, it is easier for new people to visit the EC, regular visitors can more easily join the activities and the EC team can plan ahead. But most importantly, regular encounters strengthen friendships and the sanghas' connection with the EC.

We would like to invite you all to the first joint country weekend* at the Europe Center; the weekend will be hosted by both the Italian and Lithuanian sanghas. The Northern and Southern edges of Europe will meet to start an unusual and powerful connection. We are looking forward to meeting many more of you, making this event even more international.
About the 24-hour meditations at the EC
Apart from the daily morning and evening common sessions of the 16th Karmapa meditation and the designed hours for preliminary practices (tib. ngondro), we try to organize every year also several 24-hour meditations on various Buddha aspects such as the 16th Karmapa, Loving Eyes etc. It usually ends on Saturday evening with a lecture by a traveling teacher.

Welcome to the second of our country weekends, the weekend hosted by the Slovak sangha. The little big sangha invites everybody to enjoy big hearts, big laugh and big magic. We are looking forward to meet many of you, make new friends and strengthen old friendships.

The idea of country weekends is that the hosting country or region organizes the whole weekend at the EC for other international friends and their sangha. Well almost! Memmingem with its Allgäu-airport is only 70km from the EC and is thus the closest airport to the Europe Center. For such a small airport it's getting very active with flights from low-cost airlines like RyanAir, TUIfly, Wizz air, Air Berlin etc. Recently, a bunch of new destinations were recently added, so the next time you plan a trip to the EC, just check out the 
A pink covered mac book sits quietly in the lounge of the villa's basement. Apart from its unusual color, it holds an even more unusual content. It is the archive of over 150 Diamond Way related movies collected from various times and places. From rare 16th Karmapa shots, to 20 year old TV shows with Lama Ole Nydahl and interviews with Hannah Nydahl, to recent movies depicting courses and the building of DW centers around the world.
The archive is also a video-jukebox, or videobox, and visitors can watch the movies on demand on the big screen attached. Everyone is also welcome ...

the Key people meeting will take place at the Europe Center on the upcoming weekend Jan 23-24, 2010.
EC representatives and main contacts from different countries, so-called key people, will come together and work on topics such as involvement of their countries in the EC project, the role of the EC in the future, the new EC building project and much more.
Lama Ole and Caty will join the weekend program and we would like to give everybody a chance to take part on the following sessions via worldwide streaming.

Arriving by car
Due to the weather and number of people registered, we ask that you park at the Froschweiher car park (the last car park before the EC, by the lake) and we will provide a shuttle service from there. We do not advise anyone to drive up the EC road at the moment, but in case you decide to here's some advice from our experience: you must have good winter tires. Unless you come with a four wheel drive car we also strongly recommend that you have snow chains, ...
The organizers of the International Summer Course, held at the Europe Centre, will come together and spend some time on reviewing experiences from the last summer course and also work on future vision of the summer courses at the EC.
