20 years on the road – transmission weekend with Caty & Tomek

Caty Hartung and Tomek Lehnert will come together at the Europe Center to tell us about their experiences from their many years on the road with Lama Ole. They have both worked closely with Lama Ole for more than 20 years, and the chance to hear stories and insights from the two of them together will be unforgettable.

The Europe Center certainly fits the occasion, as a central purpose of the EC is to let us all share in this precious experience of working for the dharma across many cultures. In this sense, we cross national borders every day by simply coming to, sharing, working and practicing together at the EC. Caty and Tomek represent this more than anyone in the international history of Diamond Way Buddhism.

Book & meditation retreat – Lama Ole at the EC

We have thought hard how to make the most out of them for everybody – giving Lama Ole enough space for focused and undisturbed work and our friends a possibility to meditate in his power field. Traveling with the Lama – the last Transmission weekend of 2011

End of the year is a good time to make traveling plans for the next one coming. When a friend comes from a tour with the Lama and starts to recount all the stories and experiences, it’s easy to get excited and inspired to hit the road ourselves.

This is exactly what the last transmission weekend of 2011 is about. But don’t expect last year’s bus tour stories – our guests will be people who were on the road already when Lama Ole and Hannah first brought Diamond Way Buddhism to the West- some traveled even with the 16th Karmapa.

Kagyu Masters – the next transmission weekend is coming!

There are still two transmission weekend ahead of us at the Europe Center until the end of the year. The first of them will focus on the great Kagyu Masters and the Mahamudra transmission lineage. Book 7-9 October in your diary for that.

So far Manfred Seegers and Kerstin Seifert have confirmed their participation.

Thangka painter Dawa at the EC

Dawa, Urken Lama from Nepal, is a master of the Karma Gadri style of Tibetan painting living with his wife and daughters in Rumtek, Sikkim (India). he new the 16th Karmapa and is a close student of the 17th Karmapa Thaye Dorje.

On Friday evening at 20:00, Dawa will give a lecture on the iconography of the Karma Kagyu style – the so called Karma Gadri, at the Europe Center. The lecture is for everyone, not only those who are attending the painting course that follows.

Program for the 4th International Summer course at the EC announced

As every year, the EC will host the annual International Summer Course. This year we will again have almost two weeks of program with our teachers.
We will start with the precious phowa course given by Lama Ole, followed by Riding the Tiger II transmission days with Lama Ole, Caty Hartung & Tomek Lehnert, this time focusing on the development of Diamond Way Buddhism after the times described in Lama Ole’s book Riding the Tiger.

There will also be a public lecture by Lama Ole in German on Aug 10 and a 12-hour meditation with Lama Ole & Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche. Finally, the whole course will be rounded off with 3(!) long life initiations given by Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche.

Do more with less effort in your center

Apart from the timeless methods for developing one’s mind, we also are lucky to have very talented people in our sangha who are willing to share their skills to make our common daily work easier. Michael Fuchs is one of them – he is an international professional business coach who helps consults for companies on how to achieve more with less effort, do the right thing at the right moment, effectively lead teams and continuously evolve the organization’s potential.

Participants of the workshop „108 ways for effective center meetings“, held at the EC on April 15 to 17, will have a great opportunity to learn from Michael’s knowledge in order to improve your center meetings, team work, organization and the multitude of projects that seem to appear in every center out of nowhere.

We therefore invite anyone involved in center activities to join us. You will bring back home some innovative project management methods and be able to apply those for the benefit of our Dharma activities.
