Autumn Impressions

October 28th, 2015

Every year in October, fall transforms the Allgäu region into a bright spectrum of all hues of red, orange and yellow – and the early mist above the lake makes it worth getting up early to enjoy the magical autumn atmosphere around the EC.

Up in the air…

One does not get the chance to see the Europe Center from above too often – so here are some breathtaking impressions taken from our friend’s quadrocopter!

Full Moon at the EC

September 27th, 2015

From a Buddhist point of view, full moon days and nights are a wonderful time to meditate because the results of the meditation are stronger. And on top, the full moon transforms the EC in quite a magical way at night!

Beautiful EC Spring

May 17th, 2015

Every year around May, the Allgäu region turns yellow for a few weeks, with a few white and pink spots in between. By popular demand, here’s our annual blog post celebrating the beauty of nature coming back to life. We let the pictures do the talking!

White Easter at the EC

April 7th, 2015

In the Allgäu region it is said that winter lasts “from O to O” – from “October” to “Ostern (Easter)”. This weather proverb seemed to prove correct.

While the Europe Center was pretty much deserted due to the course in Kassel with Lama Ole Nydahl, our Easter eggs fell from the sky in fluffy, white crystal form this year, giving us just another opportunity for some beautiful photographic impressions. We hope you enjoy them!

There was one thing we really wished for prior to the Transmission Weekend – sunny weather, which would enable everyone to spend time outside and simply spread out across the grounds of the EC. Well – we got a sun eclipse to watch on Friday, but then the cloudy skies delivered everything from fog to rain and snow over the weekend!

However – with a lot of creativity, flexibility, patience and joy, everyone got their delicious meals, found a (sometimes rather unusual) place to eat, and simply made the best of the breaks in between the lectures with Lama Ole and the Diamond Way teachers: talking to old and new friends from the other end of the world while queuing for food or coffee, meditating, circumambulating the stupa, grabbing some mini jobs to help running the event, and, and, and…

Looking at the happy faces and the feedback we got, everyone had a great weekend that showed clearly how important it is that we have our new, bigger Europe Center now, and how much joy it brings along!

2015 is shining already…

January 1st, 2015

New Year’s Eve’s colorful party night was followed by a first day of the year that could hardly have been more beautiful.

After days of intense snowfall the sky cleared completely, turning the Europe Center and its surroundings into a white and blue daydream, inviting the kids for sledding all day long and everyone else for a refreshing walk outside. Great start for 2015!

White Christmas

December 26th, 2014

We’ve been waiting for snow for months – and right on time at least for the second day of Christmas, it finally came!

Autumn mornings

November 2nd, 2014

The months of October and November are traditionally more quiet at the EC – lots of time to focus on meditation, getting the place ready for winter and spending quality time with friends! And the brightly colored foliage, clear air and bright sunshine bring along  lots of opportunities for beautiful pictures, especially in the morning hours.
