Shooting (video) in the gompa studio

EC Blog Archive for the ‘ECTV’ Category

Our ECTV team took advantage of Lama Ole’s visit to conduct interviews with him and the many friends visiting this week.

During events like the Meditation Weeks, space is at a premium, so the team transformed the villa gompa into a well-lit video studio, equipped with professional equipment on loan from our local filmmaker friends.

During two days of shooting, numerous English, German and Russian speaking friends gave short interviews to be used in a short film about Diamond Way Buddhism around the world, and Caty and Lama Ole generously gave us time for interviews on the function of Buddhist centers, the upcoming statue exhibition at the EC in June, and a short message for our friends in America.

Keep an eye on our ECTV YouTube channel or our Facebook page to see what comes of the footage we shot!

Three more ECTV episodes from the Summer Course, this time from the Job Center, Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche’s arrival at the EC, and the beautiful Buddhas for Centers exhibition.

Every day at this year’s Summer Course, our ECTV Team is producing a new video about a different subject.

Keep an eye on the blog for 3 new videos every three days, or check out the Europe Center YouTube Channel or Facebook page for daily updates. And if you’re lucky enough to be at the Summer Course, drop in to the more EC Cinema in the Dining Tent for daily showings. Enjoy!

Joyful effort in the summer heat!

More than 200 Diamond Way Buddhist volunteers come to the Europe Center for the weekend to help prepare for the International Summer Course at the Europe Center.

[ECTV] The barn is gone!

June 26th, 2013

Here’s a time lapse video of the construction progress over the last weeks.

It shows the dismantling of the old barn, which is to become our new meditation hall, dining area and kitchen. It is going to be re-built according to the monument protection requirements. After this, the excavation for the new building started.

Another reason to celebrate, another very important step taken on our way to the new EC building!

After days, weeks, and even years of working on the plans, Caty, Gergö and the architects on behalf of the foundation gave the building company the green light for starting the construction today. All the formalities were agreed on and sealed by handshake and a toast with the construction manager and his team afterwards.

“Let us make the big wish that the project will benefit many, many people and that it will be a step on the way to enlightenment!” (Caty)

The road is being fixed this week, the heavy construction trucks will be able to go up and down – the way for the transformation of the old barn into our future gompa, kitchen and dining hall is clear and the kick-off only days away now. We could not be more excited and will keep you updated!

Update: [ECTV] short movie about the event:
