First all, the 1st International center meeting planned for the last weekend of October 2010, will be postponed until the next summer course in 2011, specifically to the 1st and 2nd of August just before the next Summer Course starts. This will give the chance for friends from far away to come and also stay longer than just for two days.

One more update in our calendar is that Polish weekend will not happen this year. However, you can look forward to meeting our Polish friends on the weekend of 8-10.4 2011.

Due to the nature of the course, people are encouraged to attend the entire time. The Transmission Days take place 8 – 15 of August. (Contrary to what had originally been announced, there will be no empowerment or teachings by Shamar Rinpoche this year.)

The Transmission Days promise to be a highlight in Lama Ole’s program for the year. A time-line will provide a general framework to guide the sessions, and the idea is to come to a deeper understanding about how and why we do what we do today in our practice and in our Diamond Way Buddhist centers.

Summer Concert at Gut Hochreute

“A Journey to the New World”

Classical music with vocals, string quartet and piano

It will conclude the currently shown statue exhibition (last guided tours from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.). As last year, some top-class artists are again expected to give virtuoso performances of vocal, string music and piano in this wonderful atmosphere. The entrance fee for the concert is 10 EUR.

Enjoy some drinks and snacks in the wonderful atmosphere of the courtyard framed by art nouveau buildings. You will listen to works from Copland, Bernstein, Gershwin, Porter and many more, interpreted by the top-class artists Sibylle Wolf (mezzo-soprano), the Rossini string quartet and Fabio Cerroni (piano).

Visitors to the opening of the statue exhibition and the classical concert can leave their cars at the public car park “Froschweiher”. From here a shuttle service to the venue and back has been organized free of charge.

The aim is making the EC facilities nicer, cleaner, more useful and organized and save some money by reusing or selling unused stuff. And of course, we won’t forget to meditate and have fun. Check out the program of the first ECtropy up!

A typical ECtropy up! weekend looks like this:

• Every morning & evening common meditation on the 16th Karmapa.
• Friday – afternoon/evening – arrivals, accommodation. Night – getting together at the Bau Café for a nice chill-out time.
• Saturday – morning/afternoon – working joyfully together, bringing the ectropy of the EC up :),
• Saturday night fever – a party with special guests – hosting DJs
• Sunday – morning – finishing the work, after lunch – common closing meditation, departures

To realize this project, we need a manager who will get a transmission for the work from our chief restorer Beate and then supervise helpers during the whole project. As the work has to be done in the warm and sunny (well, most of the time) months that are coming, we are looking for someone who could spend here most of the summer.

You do not have to be a joiner / carpenter for this work – general manual skills, some feeling for restoration, time and enthusiasm is all you need.
